Mindfulness Based Counselling & Therapy

With a growing awareness of the benefits of Mindfulness meditation and Mindfulness based approaches for stress, depression and anxiety, I am often asked for one to one Mindfulness based therapy/counselling to deepen and support the therapeutic work.

Mindfulness therapy offers an extended 1½hr therapy session to include a 20/30 minute guided meditation practice, together with an exploration of your experience of the practice. The exploration is an important part of the session to enable you to explore your patterns of reaction during the meditation.

The exploration will highlight the ways in which you resist or cling to aspects of experience which are pleasant, unpleasant or neutral. We will also explore the ways in which these patterns might also apply to life in general and the ways in which they are influencing your ability to effectively manage stress and difficulty.

In order to get the most from Mindfulness based therapy, it is strongly recommended that you are prepared to commit to a regular home practice. Guided Mindfulness Meditation CDs are provided to support you with home practice.
